We are a group of enthusiastic Ladies, who like to sew, and meet up on the first Saturday of each month in the Oxnam Village Hall.
Our meetings take the form of “Workshops” and we have our own Teacher, Cathy Crozier, a New Zealander, who now lives in Hawick.
We have now been established for 4 years, and on May 5th, 6th and 7th, we held Our Third Exhibition. This was held in the Village Hall.
Proceeds from Our exhibitions go to Charity, and this year, we have decided on Riding for the Disabled Association Borders Branch, and Borders Childrens Charity as beneficiaries.
For those of you who never had the chance to come and see the exhibition for yourselves, here are a selection of photos taken during the days.

"Oxnam Quilters held their third and by far most ambitious quilt show over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. The show attracted a lot of interest with visitors from as far afield as Fife, Edinburgh, Durham, Sunderland and all points between.
The show itself was vibrant with colour and set out in a format not usually associated with quilt exhibitions. Our tutor had a vision of "room settings" and the quilters mens branch - viz Dick Borthwick and Frank Clayton - set about making a series of frames which were bolted together. We then had 4 distinct sections; a "bag Shop" which rivalled anything Prada could do, a very posh laundry, a toy room equipped by Hambleys and a potting shed which would have graced any half decent allotment. On the platform we had staged an antique shop with quilts handed down through families to some of our members.
We were happy to have The Crooked Willow craft shop in Jedburgh taking a sales table - the raffle quilt had been on show there for a fortnight prior to the event and this also attracted a lot of interest.
Altogether a very successful effort - we had better start work on projects for the next one in two years time.
The raffle quilt, which was made by all the quilters raised a staggering £1000 which has been distributed along with the "tea donations" equally to Riding for Disabled - Border Branch and Border Childrens Charity, each receiving a cheque for £600.
