We are still on the look out for some old Oxnam Photos, and the older the better. Don’t worry if they are not in good condition, we can have them digitally repaired, prior to use. Many thanks. Contact Mark.
Welcome to our site!
We live in a small village around 4 miles south of the Town of Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders. The village itself is fairly well spread out and has a small river (or burn as we call them here in Scotland) running through it. Surprisingly enough this is called the “Oxnam Burn”.
We have out own Village Hall, which has been upgraded in the last few years. This is used for some of the local events, clubs, groups, weddings, we have even had a couple of Rock concerts here!
We have an indoor bowling club, a toddlers group, a youth group, quilting group and from time to time we have had groups doing Pilates, card making and scrapbooking to mention a few of the activities.
We also have our own church (or Kirk as we call them in Scotland), which is situated in a prominent position overlooking the valley. There is also a graveyard surrounding the Kirk, which has some noteable graves, including that of the farmer who the “Dandie Dinmont” terriers were named after.
If there is anything that anyone would like added into this site, please contact and we shall endeavour to put it in.
